I will tell you some historic trivia about it and try to rely what this place looks like today as well as what can you expect when visiting Stonehenge!
did you know that…..
Stonehenge was a gift to the UK nation from Cecil and Mary Chubb in 1918 (they had bought Stonehenge for just £6600 at a local auction just three years earlier). The renovation works began almost immediately and the place was quickly made available to tourists. In just 100 years, the stones became the most popular place in the UK and Europe also one of the most important historic places in the world. Nearly 1.5 million people from around the world visit this place every year and this number continues to grow! Today, the ancient monument is own by the English Crown and is looked after by the English Heritage Organisation on behalf of the nation.
